(Sorry to be so long in responding!). I did write a stand alone contemporary adaptation of Jane Eyre, called Jillian Dare a number of years ago. It's also out of print now, but available to order on my website. I'm currently working on a novel about Edith & JRR Tolkien. As the blog I just posted states, that's been written in fits and starts. I'm about half way through and trying to get back on track. Prayers appreciated for the writing and for a new publisher. Thanks so much for your support!Melanie M. I really enjoyed your Inklings series - it's so good to read something fresh, wholesome, but still with depth and real-life issues involved. Thank you for your books! It may take time, I'm sure, to recover. And sometimes there are other seasons He has for us ("They also serve who only stand and wait" - or who unpack hundreds of boxes :). But when you're back, we will be ready to read :) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02345356333824422541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-854587173550124781.post-27006918289973300872017-06-23T13:51:59.759-07:002017-06-23T13:51:59.759-07:00Thank you, Julie. We're still working on the down-sizing, and recently my mom passed on to Glory, so my dad wants to move again--5th move between us in 5 years!Melanie M. I also understand about the weight of having boxes of the artifacts of someone's life, containing layers of discoveries like at an archeological dig. You will ask over and over: What shall I do with this? There are not many good answers to that question. (Some items, I came to believe, are for this very moment, as I look at it after these 50 years. For me to remember, right now, my kindergarten lunchbox. And so, the entire reason for saving it was just now met. No one else really wants to see my old lunchbox. I saw it, and remembered, which is semi-sad, hence the emotional toll of going through this stuff. Its purpose for being saved was accomplished. Now I can release it.) So glad to know there is a "come-back" even when we are deeply side-tracked for years. Thanks for being a writer.Talithahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04699244880301555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-854587173550124781.post-16828377940493052622017-02-06T17:18:14.477-08:002017-02-06T17:18:14.477-08:00Good to catch up with you this way. Wanted to let you know that your books survived the downsize and they are upstairs on a bookshelf. You're a special friend to me. Blessings on your writing!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02799261957887876943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-854587173550124781.post-87709618712785801672017-02-06T11:39:27.492-08:002017-02-06T11:39:27.492-08:00I am praying you will have a season of refreshing ...I am praying you will have a season of refreshing and a renewed spirit of creativity! I finished Evasions this morning and can't tell you how it encouraged me! A verse the Lord spoke to me recently appeared again in the book and other nuggets made their way into my heart as well. It was inexpressibly refreshing to me to read a book with spiritual depth woven into the story, with the Creator where He always should be: in, around, through, and a part of everything! I am excited to read your next novel, whenever it comes out, and I know, if you keep seeking the Lord first as you obviously did when writing Evasions, then I, among others, will certainly be encouraged by your words.
